@tRnKalcHi03 you can recover your data even if have installed a new Windows! I did this last year to recover all the files….there will be some files missing but not all of them, just a few…I’m having the same issue as at the moment ( completely erased all my file accidentally).I forgot the software name which I used last year…I think it was “RecoverMyfiles” software.~You will also need the sata/Ide kit, which I need as well. Did you reinstall windows on your computer harddrive or laptop?

I have never done that, but I would suspect you could if you took the unit apart.
Question is, though, how is the adapter different than the enclosure? – not too much.
